For those who don’t know who I am, my name is Allan Macritchie and I’ve been in the catering industry for almost 20 years. From the age of 16, I’ve worked in kitchens both on land and at sea. I’ve also dabbled in Gaelic TV, featuring in programmes such as Còcaire nan Còcairean and Fuine.
I’ve also hosted cookery classes and demonstrations for various charity groups, community projects and schools. Topics have included cooking on a budget and healthy eating.
The idea behind this blog, The Niseach Chef, is to share the little knowledge I have on cooking and help inspire you to don your apron and explore the big wide world of flavours and ingredients.
Take a browse through this blog and try your hand at a variety of different recipes, from sweet to savoury and everything in between and just have fun.
